This is the blog of Hannah Hurey, mom to Connor and Wyatt and wife to Ryan. We live in WA state away from most immediate family. Here are MY thoughts and some family activities. Mostly trying to keep my sanity with the craziness of my house with three boys.
So, I thought this whole secret pal idea for MOPS leadership was a great idea....then I got mine. All I can say is that I have been scouring the Internet for some fun, unique ideas and found them. Then I realized that I can't post any of them because that would give myself away...GRR!!!!
Let us just saw that my crafting bones are getting a workout and that Jo Ann's in Lynnwood loves me. But you are totally worth it!!!
Now, if you happen to be my secret pal, I just want to let you know what an AWESOME job you are doing in your picks for me. I LOVE the candle and holder and I can't wait to see what you come up with next week.
I just love this song...mostly because I am the negative one and my hubby is the positive one. Must go download this song.
According to you I'm stupid, I'm useless I can't do anything right According to you I'm difficult, hard to please Forever changing my mind

I took a cupcake decorating class last night and it reminded me how much I LOVE to bake and decorate. Now today I am using a box of cake flour and what is on the back....an advertisement for American Cake Decorating Magazine. (promo code: SAS06). I NEED this magazine...I mean I really NEED it. This is going to the top of my Christmas List!
Just as a note: please coordinate all gifts through my husband (ryan@hurey.com) .... how funny would it be if I got like 5 subscriptions...LOL!! This is not to say that you should feel the need or even that I expect anything for Christmas because I don't...oh, I am just making a muddle out of this...but there you have it.
Hey everyone, my friend Kelly over at Simply Kelly Designs is having a blog train...yes, that means lots of fun and FREE stuff for all of you. So, get started by going to her blog
I am home today with a sick kiddo, so I am doing some Christmas shopping on etsy. Here are some ideas for myself since apparently I am very difficult to buy for.
I just think this is so pretty and sparkly. It would go great with my silver earrings.
now that I have longer hair, I need to keep it back
In Red Crimson or Persimmon Orange, she has my measurements and I think I get a 10% discount from her shop. Just have to remember to have it sent to Seattle as I think the last thing I ordered I had sent to Chicago.
I love this wreath...I had aspirations of making it, but I would need two for my front door. I love to decorate and make my house look pretty. I love shopping for other people. Too bad with the economy I have had to cut back. Maybe I will up the quantity of handmade gifts I give...the thing is that this year, I am so far behind where I normally am at this point.
This past weekend I attended the 4th annual Spraguefest that was held in Chicago. I just happened to be here on vacation and decided that since the conference was free and was only going to cost one night hotel and then food, I should attend. It was so much fun. I met so many interesting people. It was great to make connections and know what you can aspire to be.
We are sitting here for family movie night watching Swiss Family Robinson. I LOVE this movie. What is it about it that you like? Hmm, that is an interesting question. This movie was released in 1960, way before I was even born. I think it might be the tree house. I always wanted one. A place that was just mine, up in the trees where no one could bother me. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how the remake scheduled for 2012 will be. Why mess with a good thing?
So, I got a new computer and it has taken a while for it to get up and running. Needless to say, it does not have all my programs on it....most notably what is missing is my photoshop elements. I am going crazy wanting to scrapbook and I can't. Hence all the other crafts lately. The problem....um.....we lost the disk for Photoshop...so, I am hoping to get another one...this time CS4. I am probably jumping way ahead of what my skills in both photography and editing can currently do with this purchase, but we can get a good deal on it from a friend....so, I am hoping to jump in with both feet when we finally get around to purchasing it.
Yes, the renovation is still going on. WE have finished with the downstairs bathroom, with the exception of two custom signs from Country Workshop that are still on order. Once they are here and hung, I will get pictures up.
My current problem is what picture to hang in my entry foyer. I have narrowed it down to the following three by Jude McConkey. I don't know why they caught my eye, I don't live anywhere near these places, but I guess because I have an uncle that lives in the UP of Michigan they touch a cord with me.
So, help. I need your opinions on which one is best??? My walls are painted Adobe Beige and I have Victorian type sconces that the picture needs to fit between.
I would probably have this last one turned vinitage like the one above it.
